The Public Service has a workplace policy on HIV and AIDs which outlines the plight of officers infected and affected. Your human resources office will give full details.
a. Regulation 8(12) provides for variation of terms of officers engaged on temporary before April 2005 from temporary to permanent and pensionable.
b. Regulation 8(2) stipulates that probation period is one year, after which a public officer who meets the requirements should be confirmed into appointment. Please ask Human Resources Office.
There is a new Defined Contribution Pension Fund which is currently catering for Public Officers who were aged 45 and below in April 2009. Other officers whose appointment is permanent and pensionable who are not covered by the mentioned fund have been provided for under the Pension Proclamation of 1964.

The Public Service is ruled by Public Service Act 2005 and its subsidiary laws namely Public Service Regulation 2008, Codes of Good Practice 2008. The Code of Conduct outlines standards of behavior for public officers.
